August: Treats & Eats in NYC
We're in the final stretch of summer so it's time to soak in all the parts of it that you haven't already had a chance to enjoy. Here are some of deVivre Concierge's summer faves:
Being a New Englander, I have a pretty high bar for good seafood. I've spent the last five years finding the best places in NYC. Here they are: Upstate in the East Village is one of the best seafood restaurants in the city. Aside from their ever-changing oyster and entree selection, the warm customer service and complimentary bourbon pound cake will keep you coming back again and again. Okonomi's much anticipated fish shop, Osakana, has opened and it's everything we've all dreamed of! Check out their classes and stop in later this month for their takeout options. Looking for a seafood-focused tasting menu? Marea's is second to none.
With the recent heat waves, ice cream has been the main component of most of my meals. NYC isn't short on ice cream shoppes, but some of the best cold treats are at Oddfellows Sandwich Shop (try an OddPocket), Ample Hills (try one of their crazy flavors), 321 Ice Cream (all of their ice cream is made right in front of your eyes!), and if you're lactose intolerant, or just love ice cream as much as we do, Victory Garden's goat milk ice cream comes in many flavors and forms, with numerous topping options including homemade cookie crumbles and granola, or our favorite - halva!
