Treats & Eats

1. Spring is here and so is Smorgasburg! Outdoor markets return to Williamsburg and Prospect Park this weekend, with 50 Kent's Sunday location moving to DUMBO at Pearl Plaza. Smorgasburg is also popping up in LA at the Alameda Produce Market and upstate in Kingston, NY at the Hutton Brickyards

2. Next Wednesday is Park Slope's annual Taste of Fifth at The Grand Prospect Hall. Park Slope Stoop aptly states "[one week] until you get to try Fifth Avenue’s acclaimed restaurants and watering holes, have a bottomless glass, dance, enjoy the beautiful Grand Prospect Hall while raising money for local charities". Sample offerings from local restaurants and bars (complimentary wine & beer) and enjoy entertainment - jazz, a photobooth, DJ, and a magician! $20 of every ticket goes to the local charity of your choice.

Sights & Sounds

1. This weekend is your last chance to see the Macy's Flower Show at Macy's, Herald Square. The show highlights all the different flora of the US by region e.g The Majestic Rockies promises "The Rocky Mountain region is typified by beautiful mountain vistas, inhabited by hardy plants and hardy people" while the Shining Northeast Shores states "Our Northeastern gardens highlight the lush gardens and forest typical of New England, as well as the peaceful setting of the coastline". Go check out all regions before they close this exhibit on Sunday.

2. Last weekend I saw the new musical Bright Star at the Cort Theater and I cannot recommend it enough! When I first heard about it, I was like Bluegrass: check! Steve Martin's involved: check! Broadway: check! But I was simply blown away by how beautiful and unique this musical is. Carmen Cusack played her two roles as a young teen dreaming of a bigger life and a mature accomplished Woman who's made it wonderfully! I don't want to ruin it by saying too much, but I advise everyone to go see it now while it's very reasonably priced and before it wins all the awards and you can't get a ticket anymore.
