September: Tips & Tricks from deVivre
We all have our "dying to" lists -- getting a table at the newest restaurant of your favorite Michelin-starred chef, a pair of sold-out limited edition sneakers, tickets to a one-night-only show of your favorite artist. Yes, these things may be difficult to get, but not impossible! Here are some deVivre Concierge tips and tricks:
1.) Go direct: Customer service associates are people just like you and me, and they want to help! Speaking to someone in person about your excitement about something, that they can provide to you, is something that can't be replaced over the phone or recognized through an email. Go to the restaurant before it opens; go to the store or box office on a weekday afternoon. Be genuine, honest, and humble. Let the associate know that you appreciate their time & effort and acknowledge that it may not be possible to get XYZ, but you'd be happy to be on a wait list for a last minute table cancellation or take obstructed seats at the venue. You'd be surprised how far good timing, a little patience, and a few compliments can get you!
2.) Call your credit card company: Most credit cards have a concierge service and majority of their customers don't know about the service or utilize it. Simply call the number on the back of your card and ask if you can speak to a customer service associate. Let them know that you're looking for XYZ and ask if there's anything that they could do to help [adding in that you'd be eternally grateful wouldn't hurt!]. You may be passed around to a few departments, but most likely than not, you'll get a bit of help, if not exactly what you're looking for!
