deVivre February Concierge Calendar: Get Out!

We interrupt your regularly scheduled New York City Concierge Calendar for the month of February with an announcement: while we love our fair city in all seasons and firmly stand by the idea that there is always something amazing to do (to note, in February you can visit the Brooklyn Flea Winter Market, catch the Lunar New Year Dragon Parade in Chinatown, or raise a glass at NYC Beer Week hosted by the New York Brewer’s Guild), February is also our favorite time to get the heck out of dodge. When you’re in the thick of cold, chill, and dark…a winter getaway can be just the ticket for beating the winter blahs. Also, did we mention…VALENTINE’S DAY?

Whether you have major wanderlust, you’re in need of a quick weekend jaunt away, or you just need to take a little break from your usual, our custom tailored deVivre Concierge Travel Services can make splitting town as easy as making a phone call.

DREAMING OF: Palm trees and warm weather.

Day Trip: Well, it isn’t *technically* tropical, but a day at one of our favorite NYC Spas feels as steamy as Miami in July and is WAY more relaxing.
Weekender:
New Orleans. Mardi Gras is February 25th, but we maybe love it even more off-carnivale.
Wanderlust:
The Philippines. Even though it’s the off season, highs are still in the 80’s. No crowds, lower rates, icy San Miguel’s in a hammock…

DREAMING OF: Something to eat that isn’t soup.

Day Trip: Blue Hill at Stone Barns. The incredible farmer-led multi-course tasting menu that’ll blow your heirloom gourd and is only a quick trip up and across the Tappan Zee. You’ll need a reservation, but we can handle that for you.

Weekender: Charleston. From the low (A Beaufort Seafood Boil) to the high (Lobster Three Ways at the Peninsula Grill) and everything in between, eating your way through Charleston is as easy as it is divine.

Wanderlust: Mendoza, Argentina. Known for its incredible wines, this is also a secret culinary gem. Think: exquisite multi-course menus with wine pairings (of course) set against the backdrop of the Andes Mountains. ALSO: It’s SUMMER THERE.

DREAMING OF: True Romance

Day Trip: Coney Island*. The Tunnel of Love may be closed, but there are plenty of romantic wonders/fire-breathing, snake-charming “freaks” to behold. *note: might not appeal to all Valentines.

Weekender: Montauk. Almost deserted in the off season, Montauk is truly beautiful in the winter golden hours with oodles of cozy spots for fireside whiskeys.

Wanderlust: L.A. (Don’t tell New York we said so).

DREAMING OF: Somewhere (anywhere) that isn’t NYC.

Day Trip: Philadelphia. Two hours away and yet (shockingly) feels worlds different. It is also CHEAP.

Weekender: Stowe. Hop on the Amtrak for peak snow season at the Vermont skiing destination. The lion’s share of the white stuff falls in February and March, making now a great time to get up there. Don’t ski? There are plenty of hot tubs.

Wanderlust: San Miguel de Allende. Join artists, expats, and everyone else who prefers casual climate, killer cuisine, music, culture, and cool montaña-town vibes to, well, New York City.
